Maria Scinto has been writing professionally for 17 years on a wide range of topics. Although her favorite topic is food, she has also written extensively about travel, lifestyle, real estate, and health topics, and she has published articles on, Movoto, AZCentral, Livestrong, and the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. She even won an award writing for Northern Virginia Magazine: 1st place for personal service writing from the Virginia Press Association for an article published in 2008. In addition to her writing career, Ms. Scinto spent a dozen years working as a librarian, developing top-notch research skills that allow her to dig up info on any topic imaginable and then translate it into words people can actually understand. Yet another accomplishment of hers is the fact that she holds certification as a middle and high school ELA teacher, so she has the necessary grammar chops to edit her own writing.

Maria has a bachelor's degree in comparative literature that exposed her to a wide variety of quality writing and gives her some historical context as well as an appreciation for her craft. She later earned a master's in library and information science and worked as a librarian for 12 years in public and school settings, giving her a thorough grounding in research techniques, which enabled her to dig up information on any topic and present it in a format that is both useful and entertaining.
