  • From 2019 to 2023, Garrett produced, co-hosted, and cooked on a popular YouTube food show, "Eat It or Yeet It," with guests that included Danny Trejo and Mythical Chef Josh Scherer.
  • Garrett has eaten great food all over the world, including in Beirut, Addis Ababa, London, Tokyo, and more. He still dreams of the hummus bowls and manakeesh he ate throughout Lebanon.
  • As a self-proclaimed "pizza-phile" and former New Yorker, his preferred slice has a crisp and flavorful crust, a strong parmesan umami presence, a moderate amount of cheese, and a light sauce that isn't too acidic.

Experience

Garrett wrote his first food piece in 2005 for McSweeney's Internet Tendency, explaining his complicated love for the caffeinated water, Water Joe. His time in New York City transformed him into a major foodie -- he ate a slice of pizza nearly a day, frequenting beloved establishments like NY Pizza Suprema, Luigi's, and Joe's. In collaboration with the popular YouTube channel, Smosh, Garrett worked as showrunner, producer, and co-host of the hit food show, "Eat It or Yeet It," which ran for 89 episodes. He dove into all aspects of food to prepare for each episode and learned to become a true food generalist. He joined Static Media in 2024, where he writes about his favorite way of finding good places to eat when traveling for The Daily Meal, and the places nerds eat, drink, and game in Los Angeles for Mashed.

Education

Garrett has a bachelor's degree in theater from Principia College.
