Experience

Amy joined Static Media in 2026 to continue her passion for writing about food. She's been a journalist for over a decade, covering Virginia's food and beverage scene for publications like Richmond BizSense, Henrico Citizen, Midlothian Lifestyle, and RVA Magazine. While working as an editor of RVA Magazine, she launched and grew two food columns for the outlet's digital and print publications. Her work as a journalist inspired her to branch out and start her own food blog, Hangry Girl RVA. She ran it for five years, highlighting Virginia restaurants, distilleries, bakeries, and bars. Amy also collaborated with national brands, such as Torchy's Tacos, Chopt Salad Co., Moxy Hotels, and Vinebox, to produce creative social campaigns showcasing their products. For three years, Amy served as the digital content manager for Performance Foodservice, one of the largest food distributors in the country. There, she built partnerships and created content packages for food brands like Pepsi, Tyson Foods, McCormick & Company, and Kraft Heinz. Her work as a food writer has allowed her to meet and work with chefs, business owners, farmers, brewers, and a variety of other food professionals from across Virginia. Her goal is to inspire readers to become more passionate about food, discover the coolest eats, and try their hand in the kitchen themselves.

Education

Amy has a bachelor's degree in journalism from Radford University.
