  • When she's not writing or chasing after her two young daughters, Deirdre enjoys experimenting with new recipes, particularly desserts.
  • She has been a Pampered Chef consultant for nearly 20 years and enjoys sharing quality kitchen products and delicious recipe ideas with others.
  • When she was a teacher, her co-workers looked forward to her baking birthday treats or bringing in her signature strawberry cream trifle for staff breakfasts.


Deirdre became a freelance writer in early 2019. Her work has been featured in various publications in addition to Daily Meal, including, U.S. News & World Report,, and House Digest. She has written about an extensive range of topics, including health, home and family, cooking, investing, pet care, product reviews, education, how-tos, and more. Before her freelance work, Deirdre was an elementary school teacher for 11 years. After she left the teaching profession to stay home with her first child, it was then that Deirdre discovered her passion for writing by exploring different work-from-home opportunities.


Deirdre has dual bachelor's degrees in elementary education and psychology from the University of Maryland, College Park.
