Tips

  • This is the site of the Whitney Museum's future building in the Meatpacking District. The Whitney will break ground on the Renzo Piano-designed building in May 2011.
  • The founder, Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney, often bought not the best work of the artist, which the artist might hope to be able to sell elsewhere, but the second best, which nobody else would have.
  • Admission is pay-what-you-wish on Fridays, 69 pm

  • This Biennial was really umimpressive...except for Josephine Meckseper's "Mall of America" video installation

  • Visit The Whitney Museum of American Art to see Jasper Johns Three Flags, one of 151 Jasper Johns Artworks, also one of the Artist's best Flag Paintings, owned by the Whitney Museum.
