Foursquare Tips

  • With food so local it could run for City Council and an upscale vibe, Trace throws back to an era when the hotel restaurant was a destination spot. The perfect pre-show to a night at Moody Theater.
  • A good Austin spot for happy hour.
  • Great option for a relaxed and tasty lunch in downtown. Their expert forager finds the best local ingredients. Also great for lunch with clients.
  • Have Micah as a server! He rocks!
  • Swanky. Nice patio. Out of the wind and direct sun, but still open to the street scene.
  • Ask for the special. The kanye west drink. It's a hurricane Austin style.
  • Skip the shrimp and grits. Bland and comes with just 2 shrimp. And its $16! Pancakes are good though.
  • If you leave this place without having the PBnJ then you might as well of not gone at all! This was the most exciting thing to hit my taste buds since I honestly can't remember. The chef is a genius
  • Home of the cucumber jalapeo vodka lemonade. So refreshing!
  • First mimosa, poinsettia, or bloody mary appears to be free at brunch. FTW!
  • Jalapeo & cucumber lemonade is so good!
  • Check the menu for the white balsamic glazed brussel sprouts w/ prosciutto chips. They might be hidden in the Sides section, but they're gold. Pure gold.
  • Terrific Bar Snack that is bursting with 60's, 70's & 80's Texas childhood memories. Pimento Cheese in a jar. Splits well with four a bit much for 2.
  • Great place to surprise your better half with sweets. If you aren't in the mood for dinner the pastry menu is worth the trip.
  • Try the drunken doughnuts: they're served with tequila chile fudge sauce, bourbon dulce de leche and vodka whipped cream. Nom nom nom . . .
  • Ask for Lana @ the Trace bar. She's the best!
  • Ask for an escort to the resto at the front door. Much easier to find that way.
  • Solid breakfast with good portions, if not a bit pricey. Migas were very cheesy
  • $5 carafes of mimosas ... you cant beat that!
  • New York steak is delicious but heaters are not working.
