Stella!, in chef Scott Boswell’s own words, is a mix of "the elegance of French, the simplicity of Italian, combined with Asian flavors and bold Creole accents." That much mixing and matching of cuisines could be trouble for an inexperienced chef, but Boswell, a veteran of kitchens from Provence to Florence to Tokyo, takes on the challenge with gusto, and succeeds. With dishes like crispy veal sweetbreads, Korean barbecue, and poached flounder with blue crab, Stella! is a highlight of an already bustling culinary scene in New Orleans.  -- Marcy Franklin

  • This French Quarter spot is known for its local chef with exquisite execution. Taste the BLTs with foie gras and truffle-scented lobster for a different, delicious twist on an old favorite.
  • If you're looking for first class service, high-end atmosphere and exquisite food, Stella is the first place you should look. The 4-course pre-fixe is divine & the caviar experience is unforgettable.
  • The best scallops ever. Ever
  • R.U,D.E!! Everything tastes the same. Ugh.
  • Try the Duck 5 Ways - It's official! I've died and gone to heaven!!! Perfection attained!
  • veal sweet breads, foie gras, french toast (candied walnuts + tahitian vanilla bean ice cream + crisp plantains!!) & french fried chicken! grilled cheese w/ candied pecans, nutella & captain crunch
  • Everything on this menu is to die for. I recommend eating with someone who wll share their dish with you so you can take it all in.
  • Tasting menu is fantastic if pricey.
  • Beautiful setting - romantic restaurant with amazing food!
  • Phillip Lopez, chef of Root, eats here on his nights off. He loves the Duck Five Ways.
  • Gotta get the Eggs Stanley & Eggs Stella (if on the menu)
  • Four course tasting menu w/ pairing was just right. Duck five!
  • Every bite of the seven course tasting with wine pairings was amazing though I'm conflicted/embarrassed to have spent so much.
  • super service and very good food. but VERY expensive. not sure it was worth the price, but definitely good
  • Meal was wonderful until the check was presented. $100 added for 'supplements'!! Read the small print on the menu!
  • Used to love this place, but with the current mandatory pre fixe it was a 2.5 hour epic saga of an overpriced meal, with each of the 4 drawn out courses not much bigger than the amuse bouche.
  • Try the Melon Melange With Watermelon Ice Cube
  • pricey but great for a nice date
  • The caviar, egg & lobster appetizer is fantastic.
