Tips

  • The paneer mattar/ tofu & peas is delicious.
  • Amazing cheap all vegetarian Indian food!
  • Check out the free water.
  • The chana masala and saag paneer were amazing! Some of the best Indian food I have had in a long time. Such a deal!
  • A Robert Sietsema top cheap eat, slinging perhaps the best vegetable samosas in town, with a menu that extends to only two or three other dishes per day.
  • Simple, cheap, tasty. Full of cabbies, etc. no frills veg food
  • There's a reason why the city's ex-pat cabbies are lined up here day and night - huge, affordable portions of DELICIOUS, authentic, all-vegetarian food from the subcontinent.
  • Ask for free chapatti with your lunch special (3 veggies and rice), which is actually served until 4am
  • Yum. Freshest paneer Ive ever had a place like this. Comes w raita and shredded onion chutney. Make sure you spoon some aachar (from the can) into your container before leaving. Its on tables behind
  • Best place to get cheap, authentic Indian food in NYC. The roti and saag here are phenomenal. No seats, so expect to stand at the counter or take it to go!
  • Great deal, fast service, and excellent authentic Indian food to go with the spice. Stand up eating, so there's no seating, but it's well worth it!
  • The channa masala and rotis are amazing. The place is probably the most authentic restaurant in Chelsea, but it has little seating so take it to go.
  • $9 dinner with three different (delicious) vegetarian curries is a steal...
  • All kinds of yes. I practice yoga at Sivananda on 23rd st, after class it's nice to come and indulge on some authentic Indian food. Tiny little place but for 7$ it doesn't get better than this.
  • Mmm the food here is goood. Roti with 3 veggies and lots of rice, $8. Not much room inside but totally worth it.
  • $8 for a big, amazing veg meal
  • Ridiculously delicious punjab food priced very cheap, this is the ultimate late night take out spot.
  • A hole in the wall with good vegetarian Punjabi food for cheap. The Chana Masala, Saag, and Daal are good.
  • What else can you ask for the $7.99 buffet. Its a heaven for vegetarian food lovers in the packed NY streets.
  • Amazing value.
