Tips
- Great trip through history. There's a basic fee to get in then there are separate fees for the house tour, cabin tour, tram ride, etc. We toured the house, gardens & zoo. It was fantastic.
- Be sure to tour the Audubon Swamp Garden. It is amazing. Don't miss the African American cemetery.
- Awesome gardens. Go on a cooler day otherwise it's going to be a really hot and sweaty walk. Make sure to bring the cameras because there is plenty of wildlife and flowers to take pictures of!
- Did the House Tour and the Cabins Tour. Really enjoyed both! They leave at set times, so bring snacks and games if you have small children.
- Beautiful place to get married. I had a fantastic March wedding at the Carriage House.
- Worth every penny. Nice bathrooms with AC. For better or worse make sure you keep your eyes peeled wild life is everywhere.
- What a beautiful spot! Loved the gardens and our house tour guide Marj was excellent
- Check out the petting Zoo and beautiful grounds.
- The map provided at the ticket counter isn't helpful. Just get lost and discover the gardens on your own. You never know what amazing views you'll find.
- Watch out for the gators in the swamp garden.
- They have wifi!
- The Cabin Tours are a must do on your visit here - very educational; we opted for the boat tour rather than the Audubon Swamp Garden to get a quick, guided overview of the swampland
- Great pet friendly place to go for a walk.
- Watch out for alligators!! Unexpected surprise on my ride.
- Beautiful place, definitely a fun time. The swamp is neat and the gardens are interesting.
- Be sure to tour the entire Audubon Swamp Garden. We enjoyed it even more than the main grounds of the plantation. Amazing wildlife, great for photowalks!
- So beautiful! Make sure to plan a whole day here, because it really is that nice. We did the Nature train, tour of gardens, and spent a ton of time in the Nature center with the deer.
- PEACOCKS, thats all I have to say
- Good to back
- If you do one thing while in Charles Town, visit the Magnolia Plantation. The train and boat tours were fascinating with guides that were clearly passionate about their subjects! And Peacocks...
