Tips
- Great tapas bar. We ordered about 12-14 dishes for the four of us and honestly everything was outstanding
- Charming restaurant plays with Spain's forgotten flavors.Small plates of fried eggplant with honey and nigella seeds & wild salads of salt cod and pomegranate seeds.Critics' choice for best Tapas bar!
- really excellent food. get at least one dish from each section of the menu for the full experience (all are sized for sharing). the suckling pig is usually a special but OMG, that shit cray.
- Wow. Tough to get a table but it's worth it for the authentic Spanish cuisine that made us nostalgic for Barcelona. The chickpeas, fideua paella, crispy suckling pig. Also, El Arrako = amazing drink.
- Delicious white almond gazpacho with squid and shrimp
- Order the fried eggplant served with honey, nigella seeds and a duo of melted cheese:
- Listen for the specials, they have many and they're great.
- Perfect brunch. Amazing mix of authentic Spanish cuisine with a brunch spin.
- Get anything. Cause it's all the best. But Murray's half chicken for the win.
- Stupid reservation policy makes it impossible to seat parties of 3. Never coming back.
- Make sure to try the remojn, which is considered " the most oddball and excellent dish you'll have had in ages."
- Brunch: The Cuchifrito is really great, if you like lamb and veal.
- get the fideua -- it's excellent. also the eggplant and honey. save room for dessert, namely the almond cake and olive oil ice cream.
- Serves small plates of fried eggplant with honey and nigella seeds, roasted suckling pig that slides right off the shank bone, and wild salads of salt cod and pomegranate seeds
- Spanish Suckling Pig special blew us all away! Lean, tender, crispy! If the waitstaff mentions it, get it!
- It doesn't matter what you get, it's all good. But by god, get the fried chickpeas to start.
- Awesome spot. Great food. And the eggplant with honey is surprisingly good.
- La Varas menu is a tribute to the imprint of Jews and Arabs on the kitchens of Spain. What could have been an esoteric history lesson turned out to offer a fresh take on a cuisine
- The suckling pig is insane. Also try the crispy eggplant & honey, tomato/mojama/nori bread, and the chocolate flan.
- Yummy wine, excellent tuna & radicchio salad. Awesome service, small & perfect for date night, or a fun night out with friends. Ask for the big table in the window if you have a group.
