Looking to celebrate Thanksgiving with turkey and all the trimmings, but don’t want the hassle of hustling in the kitchen to get it all done? Well, be thankful that many chain restaurants across the U.S. will be open and ready to welcome you on Thanksgiving Day.
If you are planning to dine out on Thanksgiving, you’re not alone. One in 10 consumers plans to dine out for a Thanksgiving meal and one in 20 will get a full takeout meal to celebrate turkey day, according to the National Restaurant Association. In fact, Thanksgiving is Cracker Barrel’s busiest day of the year. During Thanksgiving, Cracker Barrel will serve 652,000 pounds of turkey, 8 million ounces of gravy, 1.6 million ounces of cranberry relish, and 1 million slices of pie, according to the chain.
While many of America’s most popular chain restaurants plan to be open for dine-in or carryout meals, it’s best to call ahead to confirm, as some chains like Red Lobster will be closed on Thanksgiving and others like Waffle House are serving their regular menus. Some locations of chain restaurants on our list may not be serving special Thanksgiving meals, so call before you head out for dinner. Read on to learn which 19 chains will be serving Thanksgiving dinner in 2018.
On Thanksgiving Day, select locations of Bahama Breeze will be serving jerk turkey and pork with sides including callaloo, green beans, cornbread stuffing, and cranberry-pineapple chutney, starting at $19.99. Specials for the day also include pumpkin pralie pie and a Junkanoo Juice cocktail made with Cruzan rum, pineapple, lime juice, and hibiscus, topped with sparkling wine.
Bob Evans is open on Thanksgiving for those looking to have someone else do the cooking and cleaning this holiday. Bob Evans is also offering its Thanksgiving Farmhouse Feast again this year, a fully-cooked, heat-and-serve homestyle meal featuring all the Thanksgiving staples: slow-roasted turkey, hickory-smoked ham, cornbread and celery dressing, mashed potatoes with gravy, green beans with ham, macaroni and cheese, cranberry relish rolls, pumpkin bread, pumpkin pie, and double-crust apple pie. The Thanksgiving Farmhouse Feast feeds eight to 10 people for $114.99.
Boston Market offers a number of ways to ease Thanksgiving prep, from in-restaurant dining to takeout to home delivery. Diners wishing to dine at Boston Market can enjoy a traditional plated meal that features sliced roasted turkey breast or a half signature rotisserie chicken, two sides, a dinner roll, and a slice of apple pie or pumpkin pie for $12.99. Family Meals, whole pies, hot side dishes, and appetizers can also be picked up on Thanksgiving Day as last minute additions to accompany any meal. Nearly all Boston Market restaurants will be open for in-restaurant dining, but menu selections, availability, and hours may vary.
Boston Market also offers Holiday Heat & Serve: chilled complete meals, entrees, sides, and pies to feed four to 12 people that are fully cooked and can be ordered ahead of time and picked up in any Boston Market restaurant the week of Thanksgiving. For $119.99, guests can order a Whole Roasted Turkey Meal for 12, featuring a whole roasted turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, cranberry walnut relish, vegetable stuffing, dinner rolls, spinach artichoke dip and crackers, one apple pie and one pumpkin pie. Boston Market also offers holiday catering, buffet-style dinners for groups of 10 or more, which start at $10.49 per person and can be delivered or picked up at Boston Market restaurants.
The chain also offers Thanksgiving Home Delivery, in which complete Thanksgiving spreads can be shipped right to your front door. Through November 18, consumers in the continental United States can visit BostonMarket.com to order from a menu of eight fully-prepared and pre-cooked signature Boston Market Thanksgiving Heat & Serve meal options. Each order will ship frozen and, once fully thawed, is ready to heat and serve within two to three hours.
Whether you choose to enjoy a Thanksgiving Feast at Buca di Beppo or order it to go, the Italian eatery has you covered. Open at 11 a.m. on Thanksgiving day, the restaurant is offering a Thanksgiving Feast including sliced white meat turkey, homestyle gravy, roasted garlic mashed potatoes, spicy Italian sausage stuffing, green beans, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie. Diners can also order from the regular Italian menu. Available November 21 and November 22, Thanksgiving Dinner To Go includes full or half pans of sliced white meat turkey, homestyle gravy, roasted garlic mashed potatoes, spicy Italian sausage stuffing, green beans, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie. Small to-go meals are $68.99 and serve three people and large meals to-go are $134.99 and serve five people. Thanksgiving To Go orders must be placed by 4 p.m. on Wednesday, November 21. Additional package options are available to order online.
This high-end steakhouse chain will be serving an upscale Thanksgiving menu, with your choice of appetizer (Asian pear salad or lobster bisque), entrée (roast turkey with all the fixins or fresh fish), side dish, and dessert. It’s available from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and the full dinner menu will be available as well.
Chart House's culinary team has crafted a Thanksgiving dinner menu that infuses local flavors with a touch of the exotic, resulting in one of the most creative Thanksgiving menus around. All locations of Chart House (except those in the Golden Nugget Las Vegas; Atlantic City; Lake Charles, Louisiana, and the Tower of America location in San Antonio) are serving a special menu on Thanksgiving Day, which includes slow-roasted turkey, ham, or tri-tip all served with stuffing, cranberry relish, your choice of mashed potatoes or sweet potato, Parmesan creamed spinach, cranberry relish and roasted vegetables for $31 (plated dinners) and $41 (buffet, select locations). Dessert includes pumpkin pie or pecan pie. Chart House also mixes pumpkin drinks, like pumpkin martinis, during November. Chart House also prepares turkey platters, pumpkin cheese pie, and candied pecan butter cake all November long.
Cracker Barrel will once again offer its Homestyle Turkey n’ Dressing meals, which include turkey, gravy, a sampling of sugar-cured ham, sweet potato casserole, cranberry relish, choice of one country side, a refillable beverage, buttermilk biscuits or corn muffins and a slice of pumpkin pie, for in-store guests beginning at 11 a.m. (Bonus: Guests can have their pie à la mode with Cracker Barrel’s new salted caramel ice cream at no additional cost.) The dine-in meal costs $12.99 for adults and $7.99 for children.
Cracker Barrel is also offering carryout options for those who want to celebrate turkey day at home. The Heat n’ Serve Holiday Family Meals To-Go is a complete meal that feeds 10 for $109.99; it includes two oven-roasted turkey breasts, cornbread dressing, turkey gravy, cranberry relish, a choice of three sides, sweet yeast rolls, a pumpkin pie, and a pecan pie. Customers can pick the meal up head of time and bake it at home in two hours or less.
The Homestyle Turkey n’ Dressing Family Meals To-Go serves up to six people and comes hot, packed, and ready to be served. It includes a Turkey n’ Dressing dinner with gravy, sugar-cured ham, a choice of three country sides, cranberry relish, and a choice of bread. The meal is available November 17 to November 25 for $67.99. Guests are encouraged to order the carryout options online at least 24 hours in advance of pickup through online ordering or the Cracker Barrel app. The three Thanksgiving offerings will be available at all Cracker Barrel locations nationwide, and prices may vary by location.
From now through January 2019, Denny’s restaurants nationwide are serving a “Festive Flavors” menu, which features its classic Turkey & Dressing Dinner plus the returning $5.99 Super Slam (now with a fluffy pumpkin pancake upgrade), and the new Cinnamon Roll and Pumpkin Spice Pancake Breakfasts. Starting at $9.99, Denny’s Turkey & Dressing Dinner features tender carved turkey breast, savory stuffing, turkey gravy and a sweet cranberry sauce along with a choice of two sides. America’s diner is also offering its new Turkey and Dressing Dinner Pack, available exclusively through Denny’s online ordering platform, ‘Denny’s on Demand.’ Featuring enough food to feed the entire family, the Turkey and Dressing Dinner Pack includes four servings of the classic Turkey & Dressing Dinner along with two sides, dinner bread, and full serving-ware for ultimate convenience.
Thanksgiving dinner is available at select Downtown Aquariums locations in Denver, Houston and Kemah, Texas. Guests will enjoy a buffet-style feast featuring an assortment of breakfast items, seafood selections, and traditional favorites (prices vary by location but are around $40 for adults and $20 for children). Served in a nautilus-themed dining room with front-row views of marine life swimming in giant aquariums, each location offers different activities for the family to enjoy: Denver has a 4D Theater and amusements rides, Houston offers amusement rides, carnival games, and stingray reef, and Kemah has a stingray reef.
Golden Corral’s Thanksgiving Buffet includes carved turkey, glazed ham, cornbread stuffing, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole, sweet corn pudding, yeast rolls, pecan pie, and pumpkin pie along with other Golden Corral “endless buffet” favorites like fried shrimp and smoked baby back ribs, a full salad bar, and a dessert bar featuring a chocolate fountain. Turkey might not be the typical go-to order at the International House of Pancakes, but the Roasted Turkey Dinner is classic comfort food on a plate: carved roasted turkey breast topped with turkey gravy and served with a choice of two sides. Bonus: It’s on the 55+ menu, which means seniors age 55 and older get a discount on this meal, which is served year-round, so every day can be Turkey Day.
Landry’s Seafood House has locations in Alabama, Colorado, Florida, Louisiana, Missouri, South Carolina, and Texas. Each location offers its own version of Thanksgiving. Texas locations in Galveston, Katy, and Woodlands are serving an all-day traditional Thanksgiving buffet with a Gulf Coast twist, featuring turkey and ham carving stations, fresh seafood dishes like blackened catfish and shrimp étouffée, and a variety of traditional sides and desserts (price varies by location, and the Katy and Woodlands locations also offer a family-sized meal to go). The outposts in Lafayette, Louisiana, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and Orlando, Florida, are serving plated turkey dinners all day with traditional sides. Other locations are serving Landry’s Seafood House dinner menu all day, but with no turkey.
Diners can opt to have dinner at Marie Callender’s “house” or take a prepared feast home from most locations. Dine-in Thanksgiving dinners include a choice of Fresh Roasted Turkey Dinner with apple-sage stuffing, turkey gravy and cranberry sauce or Oven-Baked Ham Dinner with chipotle-pineapple sauce; both options include seasonal vegetables, fire-roasted yams and fresh mashed potatoes and a choice of a slice of pumpkin pie or apple pie. Children can enjoy a turkey or ham dinner that includes cornbread, choice of potato cheese, hearty vegetable soup, or a crisp house salad, plus seasonal vegetables, mashed potatoes, and dessert. Marie Callender’s also offers five Freshly Roasted Turkey Dinner and Holiday Feasts to-go.
Mitchell’s Fish Market, with locations in Florida, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, is serving plated turkey dinners, featuring turkey and traditional sides, all day for $28 (adults) and $10 (children). All locations also offer a Thanksgiving Feast To-Go, a full Thanksgiving dinner — including sliced turkey, stuffing, smashed and sweet potatoes, house-made cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie, and more — for $129 (small, serves four to six people) and $250 (large, serves 10-12 people. Orders for Thanksgiving Feast To-Go must be placed by 4 p.m. on November 18.
Ponderosa Steakhouse and Bonanza Steakhouse are offering a holiday buffet at participating locations. Call the location nearest you to confirm hours, pricing and holiday buffet offerings. Just like at home, diners can enjoy seconds (and thirds), but save room for something sweet from the dessert bar.
How about celebrating Thanksgiving in… the jungle? Rainforest Café locations in Atlantic City; downtown Chicago; Disney Springs and Disney’s Animal Kingdom in Orlando, Florida; Galveston, Texas; Las Vegas; San Antonio; and Woodfield, Illinois, are celebrating Thanksgiving with sliced roasted turkey served with redskin mashed potatoes, cornbread stuffing, turkey gravy, green beans, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie.
Most locations of Ruth’s Chris Steak House are open and serving a three-course traditional Thanksgiving dinner in addition to the regular steakhouse dinner menu. The festive feast, which includes a soup or salad, oven-roasted turkey breast with sausage and herb stuffing, gravy and cranberry relish plus a choice of a side (garlic mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, or creamed spinach), and a dessert duo of cheesecake and vanilla ice cream is $39.95 for adults and $12.95 for children. Bonus: Guests who order the traditional turkey feast will also leave with some extras to enjoy at home the next day, according to the folks at Ruth’s Chris Steak House. Looking to have your feast to go? Diners can order a pan of creamed spinach or sweet potato casserole designed to serve 10 to 12 people for $29.95.
Select Sizzler locations will be open on Thanksgiving to serve a traditional Thanksgiving meal that includes freshly roasted, hand-carved turkey with stuffing, green beans, mashed potatoes and gravy, baked sweet potato with maple butter, cranberry sauce, and a slice of pumpkin pie. The cost is $12.99, but prices may vary by location. Sizzler’s regular menu items are also available, including the unlimited craft salad bar, which means even the pickiest eater can find something to enjoy.
In time for Thanksgiving and the holidays, T.G.I. Fridays is offering the Fridays Feast (after all, what is Thanksgiving without a feast?).
