Foursquare Tips

  • The Chicken & Pork Katsudon with curry sauce is nothing short of excellent. Juicy breaded chicken, flavorful crispy pork, and flavorful curry sauce over a bed of wonderful rice.
  • How long is the wait? Parties of two usually wait about 15 mins, as people tend to eat quickly. But if youre a party of four and want to sit together, its much trickier at up to two hours.
  • The katsudon is magnificent.
  • I got full and left a piece of katsu in my bowl and I really, really miss it right now.
  • The Katsudon and Karaagedon are both amazing!
  • Go for the Katsudon, which layers a fried panko-coated pork cutlet that's finished in a pan with a gooey egg, caramelized onions, and pickled vegetables, all coated with Donburi's signature sauce.
  • Great hardy food. Worth a visit if you like Japanese food.
  • I want to try the eel. Pork was legit.
  • If its your first time, get the moriwase!
  • Donburi is good... the eel is a bit dry but overall both are worth the try
  • Curry Katsudon was really good! Small restaurant, so its not good for groups. Order your meal to go and eat it at home.
  • Small counter with delicious food. You'll get a seat quick enough. The shrimp option is awesome, but so is everything else. You order with the host before being seated.
  • Sakedon & Karaagedon are both excellent!
  • Awesome bowls and super friendly staff
  • The curry and shrimp is very good. Small place with a simple small menu. There are no tables, just a bar, minimalist interiors and good music, excellent option after a night out on 18th Street
  • Small but cozy rice bar. Order first then find a seat at the bar. I usually get the Sakedon...highly recommended. But I seriously need to try other items on their menu!
  • Get the unagidon! My favorite place to get eel. Service is fast and friendly.
  • Whatever you get, make sure it has salmon in it (sakedon) or on the side. Rice was a bit mushy, could use some work. Pass on the fried chicken. Drizzle the citrus mayo stuff on everything.
  • Been here 3 Times. Best rice bowls in DC.
  • A little pricey, but this is DC so what isn't. Super satisfying and filling, and the curry is so good.
