  • It's said that if a couple climbs the 100 stairs to the top of Mount Bonnell once, they fall in love; twice, they'll become engaged; and after three times, it's inevitable they'll get married.
  • One of the oldest recorded tourist attractions in the Austin area and the highest point within Austin's city limits, Mount Bonnell offers fantastic sunset views of Lake Austin and the 360 Bridge.
  • Must take out of town guests here for great view
  • Great views of the city!
  • There is a legend that Mt. Bonnell was once called Antoinette's Leap, named after a damsel who leaped to her death to avoid capture from Indians that killed her lover after he defended her.
  • If you're in highschool, definitely bring a chick up here to make out.
  • Came here 5 days after our 35th wedding anniversary. The romance helps the marriage stay happy.
  • I married my beautiful wife here!!
  • No trip to Austin is complete without a stop at Mt. Bonnell, the highest "peak" in the Austin area. Anytime is good, but sunset can be spectacular across the panoramic view.
  • Beautifoul Austin View. Better on sunshine.
  • Inspiration location...
  • If you are a garden ornament, get a very nice lass to carry you up. (Promise her cuddles at the top, it's very romantic at sunset, and frankly the polite thing to do.)
  • Walked the 100-steps that the History Channel advised. let's see if it works!
  • It is very beautiful and will stay that way if you take your trash with you. Please don't litter!
  • If you haven't been to Mt. Bonnell, you're missing out on one of Austin's most scenic and beautiful views. It's the perfect location for a romantic date.
  • Whether or not you believe the love tales surrounding Mt. Bonnell, this is still the best place in ATX for a view of the surrounding cityscape and hill country. Bring a picnic, a sweetheart or both.
  • Great side paths for better views once you get to the top
  • Highest point in the city limits @ 774 feet. Not that high, but beautiful view of Lake Travis.
