Tips

  • Must see the Glass Tower! Wow!
  • In addition to being the world's largest children's museum, you can also find the largest permanent Chihuly blown-glass display here - well worth checking out if you're in Indy!
  • Play in the water area with the little kids. Good stuff.
  • Ride aboard EgyptAir into "Take Me there: Egypt"
  • If you're looking for family friendly activities in Indianapolis you can't miss The Children's Museum of Indianapolis, the biggest and best children's museum in the world! Explore 5 floors of fun!
  • Founded in 1926, the museum collection consists of over 100,000 artifacts. While you're here, gaze skyward in the SpaceQuest Planetarium as they transport you on an out of this world cosmic adventure.
  • The only problem I have with CMI is that the food is commissary style food. They should identify local restaurants to operate the food service.
  • A must visit if you have kids between 4 and 12.
  • If you go to the Children's Museum, you HAVE to go down the slide. The line might seem long, but your inner youth will thank you for the wait.
  • Fantastic place to host events. Without a doubt, it's one of the best museums in the world!
  • Go to the top floor and ride the carousel. You won't be sorry.
  • For a quieter experience, go early on a Sunday. Especially great if you have young children who tend to get run over by the older kids there.
  • Have a slice of the cheese pizza in the cafe. Wow.
  • Christmas Eve, Martin Luther King Jr. Day and El Dia de Los Nios for FREE admission. Dont miss Target FREE Family Nights on the first Thursday of each month from 4 8 p.m.
  • Awsome museum. If you plan to visit more than once get a membership though. Great around the holdiays. The theatre and planetarium are really great. Food court so-so but good for a break.
  • Members ride the Carousel (4th floor) free!
  • The dinosaur exhibit in the IMAX area is really amazing! Go check it out!
  • The best money we ever spent was buying a family membership here.
  • If you live within a 4 block radius, your membership is free. Just ask for the 30/34 club!
  • Just bought a membership and I have to tell you. The best thing I've done in a long time. With exhibits constantly changing, your guaranteed to have a year of fun exciting new things. :))
