According to its website, Café 976 is hidden in the corner of one of San Diego's oldest neighborhoods, Pacific Beach, in a 1920's beach house with a deck and garden. From a home to a school to an antique store, this building finally became the coffee shop it is today in 1993. Large mugs of delicious coffee attract students, business professionals, musicians, artists, and families, and its wooden deck is perfect for enjoying a beautiful San Diego day.

  • enjoy an acai bowl (with the works) surrounded by rose bushes :) this place is always busy, but sunny sunday mornings are PACKED!
  • Watch out for the bee's
  • The service here is terrible due to staff that is inattentive and a kitchen that is extremely slow...
  • the service was pretty slow but the atmosphere is great. I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for a quick breakfast but its great if you want to sit and relax and have some coffee and good food!
  • I'm a serious food snob. The breakfast here is seriously good. Throw in a great vibe and a walk from the beach. Perfect.
  • Bring a book, grab a Iced Milky Way, and relax in the garden!
  • Get the spinach burger on ciabatta. Would not be my typical order but tried it and am hooked!
  • Great spot to meet the cool kids of tech
  • Great place, but I ended up seated at a table next to the owner. She is an ignorant, bigoted woman who hates "the gays" and "the Mexicans." She also joked about firing her own staff. Don't go here!
  • the breakfast eggplant burrito was amazing. what a great place!
  • Skip the green burrito.
  • Hands down the best coffee / breakfast place in Pacific Beach
  • Great place for coffee and casual meetings but Chronic Smoothies definitely still offers a superior Acai Bowl.
  • free refills for the large coffee... $2
  • Best Acai bowl in town!
  • Hawaiin chicken, as a spinach tortilla wrap= epic win
  • Good Morning Bagel!! with an acai bowl = spectaculous!
  • Cozy and green outside garden to sit in. Had their Pitaiya bowl, full of goodness and color.
  • It's like sitting on your own porch, really cute place to grab a cup of coffee and read
  • My favorite breakfast stop in San Diego before I head out home. Try the flavorful coffee selection! The food is vegetarian friendly as well.
