Tips

  • You'd be crazy not to get the smoked pork belly. It blows the burnt ends out of the water. While you're here be sure to try one of their organic sodas and stick around for the free apple pie. Awesome.
  • The burnt ends are ah-mazing!
  • Co-owner Matthew Katakis said it's first and foremost a butcher shop, with pork chops, ribs and burgers available from a meat counter. Inside, a sign reads: "We cook what we sell, sell what we cook."
  • A big thanks to Teddy and Matt for flawless catering. 40lbs of mac n cheese, 20lbs of slaw, 20lbs of yams, and 100 corn cakes with the amazing honey butter. On point and ultimately delicious. Thanks!
  • Combination butcher shop and barbecue joint. High points: dry-rubbed ribs, brisket cheesesteak, and burnt ends.
  • Food was okay. Not the best BBQ I've had. Also a little pricy.
  • The apple cake is, like everything else, perfection.
  • the brisket and bacon is as good as any I've ever had at Texas!
  • The Philly cheesesteak is AMAZING!!! The 3 cheese sauce takes this sandwich to a different level of awesome. Slaw is A+. BYOb, $2.79/pp. The burnt ends are good, but John Brown BBQ keeps 1st place.
  • Tried the four meat platter. Looks good right? It wasn't. In fact, we left almost all of it behind. Didn't even wrap out to go. Who'd eat it? Bland and dry. Save your money and go elsewhere.
  • Underwhelming. Get up and go to John Brown's. You'll thank me.
  • Good for vegetarians since the meat is not very good....
  • Careful about not liking this place. The owners will personally attack you online. Really classy.
  • Barbecue dishes, Sandwiches, rotisserie items, and chops, all made with top-notch, locally-sourced meat. Taste: Smoked Pulled Pork, 50/50 Sandwich, Rack St. Louis Style Dry Rubbed Ribs
  • The bar is really nice. The end.
  • Drinks are OK, meats not so much.....
  • Owner threatened me on yelp after a negative review. #classy #avoid
  • The BBQ sauce tastes line it's from a can. Very unauthentic.
  • The pork belly, burnt ends and Mac and cheese are excellent choices.
  • If you have not ordered yet, get up and walk out now. This place made me want to become a vegetarian. Everything LOOKS good but the meat here is bland and textureless. You'll thank me for this review.
