Foursquare Tips

  • Sit and the bar and tell the bartender something you have in mind, without being too specific. Don't even think about using your cellphone in here.(advanced reservations required)
  • You have to make a reservation to get into this 1920's bar AND know the right password to get in! The old-time bar has no sign outside so you better pay attention or you'll miss it.
  • A drink in the library.
  • The culty speak-easy makes outstanding hand-crafted cocktails. One or two are enough, but I always want many more. -Elizabeth Falkner, Top Chef
  • Go to Bourbon and Branch and be transported 90 years into the past while enjoying the most complex and expertly prepared libations ever!
  • Once you get the daily passcode online, walk into a dark moulin-rouge setting and have yourself the finest cocktails around. This place is the french laundry of bars, good luck getting in. -Yigit Pur
  • Congratulations, you've found one of Esquire's Best Bars in America. This place is a speakeasy with cocktails that would have made a pre-Prohibition Broadway dandy smile. Our vote: a daiquiri.
  • 1) find a baller friend. 2) convince him/her to rent out the hidden cigar room. 3) sip and enjoy.
  • Great speakeasy theme... get a password and have some of the best cocktails in town.
  • Coolest bar in SF, an old speakeasy owned by our friend Brian Sheehy

  • Bring a flashlight - it's dark in here!
  • My uncle asked me what i liked ("weird & old"), AND went to the trouble of looking up the password & bringing me here b/c he fundamentally knows how to make his hipster niece feel loved & special.
  • Hide in the toilet to check in. I am.
  • Try to get in to the Wilson and Wilson Room
  • Favorite Cocktail so far is the "Cucumber Gimlet": Vodka + Elderflower + Lime Juice + Orange Bitters + Sparkling White Wine + Cucumber Sliver = Amazeballs!
