Located in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn, Bloom Café is a charming and cozy restaurant that specializes in coffee and tea, juices and smoothies, soups, salads, wraps, sandwiches, and bakery items. The juice selection is especially noteworthy; options include the Slimming (orange, lemons, beets, celery, carrots, ginger) and the Green Machine (kale, romaine, celery, cucumber, apple, spinach). There’s also an extensive vegan selection: There’s a daily-rotating vegan soup and muffins, several vegan salads (including a wrap with grilled tofu, cucumber, mushrooms, hummus, lettuce, tomatoes, and onions), and a vegan panino with seasonal vegetables, breaded tofu, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar reduction.
For the non-vegan, signature items include The Bloom, a panino with jerk chicken breast, dried apricots, lettuce, tomato, onions, and aioli; The Southern Salad with Southern chicken salad, apples, dried cranberries, lettuce, tomatoes, and onions; and a nice selection of bagels, croissants, and cookies. Smoothies are also standouts, especially the Vernon Smoothie, with pineapple, bananas, coconut milk, and orange juice.
