Foursquare Tips

  • This pub takes its monastic theme from the Dominican priory which once stood here. The elaborate and witty decorations date from 1904 and make this a unique London watering hole.
  • Remarkable art nouveau dcor, a good choice of beers, friendly atmosphere, and decent food all day
  • Like you've stepped back in time...
  • A superb pub in the heart of London: historic, atmospheric, great beers. Food is OK but the look and feel of the place is something else.
  • A good recommendation from my dad - very unusual art nouveau decor, an extensive selection of beers, and a fine view of the upper parts of the South Bank when you stand outside.
  • One of the best beer selection including US Blue Moon. Pub food is just fine yet burgers are really tasty. Very convenient location and great outdoor sitting area. A must visit place.
  • Nice high end pub with lovely decor and good to above average food.
  • Decent pub with a nice interior. Good selection of beers from cask.
  • A literal sliver of a tavern near Blackfriars bridge, offering a good selection of beers from the cask and a selection of seasonal specialties. Dark and cozy, with wood carvings of cheeky friars.
  • Serves food until 10pm most nights.
  • One of my favorite pubs in London and one that I always take visitors to. Be sure to go all the way in to see the inner room with the marble and the friars. Proper ales on tap as well.
  • Cheeseburger is solid. As are the beers. Great decor.
  • Great fish & chips - but huge!
  • Super lokalek
  • An Arts and Crafts Movement triumph!
  • Legendary and witty old interior. Just stay away from the horrible dark ale: worst beer ever, but there are plenty alternatives.
  • A fantastic pub with an amazing atmosphere.
  • Great burgers, excellent beef rib & chicken pies and fantastic atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit even if just to have a look around this art nouveau masterpiece!
  • Just go inside
  • The hearty British pub food is definitely worth a shot!
