Professor Provitera began his career in management and finance in the financial services industry, originally working for the Merrill Lynch on Wall Street in Manhattan. After completing his academic studies and earning his MBA and DBA at Nova Southeastern University in the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship, professor Provitera began a career in higher education at Saint Peter’s College as assistant professor. In January 2004, he transferred to Barry University in Miami, Fla.
He was assistant academic coordinator for a few years and has been an active member of the department serving for many years on the faculty committees and on various other departmental and university level committees. He has been responsible for course development in the Administration Concentration in both the undergraduate and graduate program and has participated on several search committees for new faculty. He recently conducted and presented to the Graduate Studies Council the Program Review for the Master of Arts in Administration.
His academic interests are primarily in the areas of management education, motivation, and organizational behavior. He is currently a management consultant and author of the book Mastering Self-Motivation.
In his spare time, he also likes to cook and is an avid "wannabe chef."
