Why You Should Go to Las Vegas for NYE

Check this city's NYE celebrations off your bucket list this year
Las Vegas

New Year’s Eve in Vegas is basically a bucket list item that everybody should experience at least once.

If you only know one thing about Las Vegas, it should be that we know how to throw incredible parties. And while we can find a reason to celebrate nearly every day of the year, our New Year’s Eve celebrations are by far exactly what you’d imagine Vegas to be on the hyped-up holiday: crazy. Not only is everyone in town celebrating the ushering in of a new year, but in order to do so, we go as far as to shut down the Strip in order to celebrate even bigger and better than NYE parties past.

With a massive choreographed fireworks display that puts the Times Square ball drop to shame and with entertainment options that only the Entertainment Capital of the World (that’s us!) could offer, New Year’s Eve in Vegas is basically a bucket list item that everybody should experience at least once.

Rock the night away with a variety of concerts. Catch performers including Bruno Mars at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. Maroon 5 will be rocking the house at the Mandalay Bay Events Center. Turn the party notch up with the one and only Britney Spears at Planet Hollywood or make the evening a classic one with Celine Dion at Caesars Palace. While there are a lot of options for concerts, also keep in mind that many of the resident headlining performers here in Sin City will be carrying on their performances as usual with one or two fun New Year’s Eve celebration surprises added to the act.

Featured Parties

For all of you club-goers out there, we hope you are ready to literally dance your way into 2016 with some of the year’s hottest club bashes. With an impressive DJ lineup and lots of party surprises tucked away like confetti and balloons, we can tell you that wherever you end up is probably going to be the best New Year’s celebration of your life. Some of our top clubbing picks include:

Hakkasan: You know him from his music, or from the massive banners dangling off MGM Grand. Now celebrate the New Year with Tiesto at the party spot that gets better every night. One of the top names in EDM at the top club in town — this is the party you’ll be talking about until 2017.

Omnia: The new club in town will be rockin’ with Calvin Harris. This party will be so hot you won’t even remember who Calvin was dating by the time 2016 hits. You’ll just wish it was you. The club is fresh and the DJ is polished. Putting them together means you’ll get an experience that’s both new and sublime.

XS – XS and Alesso know the new year is a time to let go. It’s the hot spot for party professionals, so come here when you want a sweet escape because XS is guaranteed to bring it. Every party at this club is perfect, so make this your sure thing.

Events Around the Strip

New Year’s Eve at Stratosphere: This is the highest of party spots. We promise we’ll abandon that joke in 2016, but not yet. Don’t just watch the fireworks, be inside them as you hear the bursts from 1,100 feet in the air. Premium bars, DJs, multiple levels of Tower Bash, one of which includes the amazing Claire Sinclair. That’s how we 2016.

Evolve Vegas NYE: The Havana Room at the Tropicana will be all rainbow fireworks this NYE with the return of Evolve, the gayest NYE party on the Las Vegas Strip. Edie from Cirque du Soleil’s “Zumanity” will be on hand to make sure the party gets just the right amount of out of control. And the open bar will get your inhibitions nice and low for when the special performances and celebrity guests show up. Party in, out and all around the Havana club this NYE.

NYE on the High Roller: We usually try to avoid things that may potentially make us dizzy while we’re downing one shot for every year we’ve been in Vegas (that’s a lot) but we make an exception for the High Roller. Buy up a private cabin for the small price of $6,250 and get 24 of your friends to make midnight the time of toasting to excess and taunting that one person who can’t handle the spin. It’ll be a new year when you disembark and new chances to get tipsy.
