Dehydrating is an age-old popular method of preservation, but after adding a little bit of alcohol to the process, you may never look at dehydrated fruit the same way again.

Spiced Rum Banana Chips
pure maple syrup
In a large mixing bowl, add banana slices, maple syrup and rum. Toss until bananas are fully coated with maple syrup and rum. Set aside for 15 minutes. Toss again to re-coat bananas.
Place banana chips in dehydrator of choice. Follow directions for drying time for banana chips.
Note: We used a digitally controlled food dehydrator on a 110 degree setting for 16 hours to achieve the perfect crisp.
