Tips

  • Funny. The name of this place means: "Wild Saint" and that's exactly what I want to be.. but no, not in some creepy destructive kinda way.
  • Tamales and chocolate bread pudding are increble!
  • Restaurant week fun! Gazpacho = yum
  • San Salvaje showcases chef Pyles' current obsession with Central and South American flavors, with perfect measures of ingenuity and restraint.
  • Yellowfin tuna ceviche, sweet corn and lobster tamale, and duck tacos are all great choices!!!
  • For $10, this upscale Cuban is a deal. San Salvaje is one the most interesting restaurants to open downtown in some time, and this sandwich is twice as delicious as the taco options on the menu.
  • Don't miss the lucuma suspiro, a slightly fruity custard topped with a passion fruit merengue. It's served with a fried cookie that's curled up like a watch spring.
  • The menu is divided into seven sections, and includes creative twists on Latin cuisine with items like yellowtail ceviche ($12), smoked duck tacos with rhubarb salsa ($10) and crab arepas ($10).
  • Sip on the pink guava caipirinha - you won't regret it. Not too sweet. Super fresh!
