To celebrate the illustrious, bone-crunching history of rugby, Rolls-Royce has created a new customized version of their Wraith model. Called “Wraith - History of Rugby,” the special design is a quintessentially English creation, boasting features that will be pretty familiar to fans of the violent sport.

The car’s color is a nod to the white shirt worn by players at the Rugby School in Warwickshire, which is where the game got its start in 1871. Furthermore, the English rose embroidered on team shirts for more than a century makes an appearance on the Wraith’s headrests, in the center panel of the Piano Black veneered dashboard, and hand-applied on the automobile’s signature shoulder-line.

"This truly unique Wraith emphasizes vision and individuality, inspired by the role it plays within a team,” says James Crichton, Regional Director of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Europe. “While the game of rugby may have been inspired by the act of one individual, it is one of the world’s most popular team sports. In a similar vein, this one car represents the efforts of the team of engineers and craftspeople working at the Home of Rolls-Royce in Goodwood, producing the most individual motor cars in the world.”

For a little something extra special, the iconic rugby ball manufacturer Gilbert has produced a limited-edition ball to match the luxury car. What could be better than a rugby ball made from the same Seashell and Hotspur Red leather as the Wraith’s interior? Aside from actually driving the car with David Beckham riding shotgun, of course.
