Tips

  • Go to Sammy's Noodle Shop and eat a fortune cookie. Read the fortune aloud to the cashier.
  • Walk in orders are the best orders. Food comes quickly (often before delivery folks) and you'll be more than pleased with the portion size your money buys.
  • Great Chinese served with abusive flair ... the General Tso's is amazing! :D
  • Veggies: order the general tso's tofu - possibly the best in the city and comes with a nice amount of broccoli!
  • Singapore Mai fun w/ a side of spicy szechaun sauce is amazing. Apologies in advance for starting your inevitable addiction.
  • Big portions, good prices. Get the spicy szechuan wontons (dumplings) and orange beef.
  • Portions are freakin huge and it's cheap...so worth it.
  • Avoid this place.
  • The sesame chicken was disappointing... :-( not like take out at all.
  • General Tso chicken with white meat is scrumptious!
  • Best frickin Chinese in the city.
  • Order one of the Cantonese Wonton soups with Roast Meats. My favorite is the sliced pork. The wontons have pork and shrimp in them. So gooooood.
  • Favorite chinese food in the Village. Order the cold sesame noodles. No fuck it...Order anything because it's all great.
  • A platter of General Tsos gleams with crisp fried chicken pieces coated in a syrupy red sauce freckled with spicy chilies. Just one bite reveals the crunchy, juicy, spicy and sweet flavors.
  • The cold sesame noodles are made with udon and they are dank. However, don't eat the entire serving or you will feel ill.
  • Sesame noodles
  • REMEMBER: the portions are family sized at Sammy's so don't order a whole lot.
  • Word on the street is that they have a good, big old school Chinese egg roll. I have not tried it, but Foursquare won't let you save notes on places, so I'm sharing this TO DO note with all of you!
  • Pretty solid spot for Chinese. Had lo mein and general tso's, both no complaints, but also nothing out of this world. Warning: steamed pork buns are enormous, enough to split between 2 for sure.
  • I had the shrimp pad Thai here. Pretty solid choice and a large portion that is good to share ;)
