Foursquare Tips

  • Meatballs, great. Octopus, awesome. Beer, plentiful. Service, spotless. Music, absolutely horrendous. Stereotypical and dated juiceball dance tunes. Meals should come with ear plugs.
  • Sit upstairs, start with the scallops in brown butter, get down with the hanger steak and Greek sausage, and treat yourself with the apple baklava napoleon because you friggin' DESERVE IT!!!
  • The more casual venture for New York's most celebrated Greek chef, with traditional takes and new spins on Greek classics.
  • Great selection of draft beers for a Greek place.. Nice space.
  • The Octopus appetizer is by far the most tender, flavorful Octopus in NYC. Do it, you won't regret it.
  • Sweet craft beer list. Firestone Walker Union Jack, Singlecut, Founders, Allagash, Dogfish Head--on tap.
  • The music is way better than it was when this place opened. Yippie!
  • Michael Psilakiss extraordinarily delicious modern take on traditional Greek. Having a party? Order your choice of Whole Animal at least 5 days in advance to be roasted for you and your guests.
  • Grandma's Greek meatballs w lemon & tzatziki are off the freaking chain.
  • Great fish, sit near the bar, nice wine specials, very trendy take on original greek food..
  • Skip the oysters, strange to find such bad quality when everything else is great.
  • You cant go wrong with MP Tavernas salt cod fritters. That dish is a must-try!
  • Cast iron breakfast for brunch. Do it.
  • Do as Dan says. Grandma's meatballs, octopus, MUSSELS, lamb shank, brownie. Repeat. Food and service are five stars. Such a gem!
  • Loved that place! Had the Mama's meatballs and the brownie as a dessert (you MUST try it). Delicious. Service was great. The only thing they could change is the music but it's a detail.
  • Worst creme brle in the world - insultingly bad. Friendly service. Decent food overall. Bloody Mary = ketchup + vodka with way too much pepper. Oh and the best part - non-stop MoTown Music.
  • Grandma's meatballs are fantastic, as are the dumplings. Interesting flavor combination with sun-dried tomatoes, feta, pine nuts and spicy lamb sausage that heats you up in a good way.
  • All those televisions and none of them play Knicks playoffs? Fail.
  • The vibe is relaxed and the food is great. Michael Psalkis is a great chef! The octopus is a must have and scallops had such wonderful flavor
  • Get yourself a cocktail and try the mixed grill. Best.
