Foursquare Tips

  • Free refills on coffee :)
  • Pick up a feta-cheese croissant, an elegant knot of dough speckled with poppy and sesame seeds. It truly earns the bakery its place among the neighboring artist studios and galleries:
  • Best coffee around and the best cinnamon roll in California.
  • Recommend the new pistachio twist ... flaky Danish that is savory with some sweetness!
  • Choose a loaf and get it sliced to take home. Order a mint lemonade & feta croissant or olive stick to eat in the patio, then take a nap.
  • Can't go wrong with any of the pastries. But my go to is definitely the croissant. Or the cheese danish. Or the chocolate swirl. Oh hell, basically everything.
  • Ran Zimon's breads are some of the very best in town, and his pastries, particularly the glorious croissants, are nearly perfect examples of the genre.
  • The Going Dutch panini on olive stick is a cheesy bit of deliciousness. Pastries are brilliant, highly recommend the Kouign Amann when they have it. Also sell bread to go and will slice it for you.
  • Get the On the Bird sandwich- you won't regret it.
  • Order the grain stick ($2.75) and request a side of Emmenthaler Swiss cheese ($2). Have it toasted for a great "off-menu" sandwich ... great for breakfast, or for lunch, with their yummy soup!
  • On the Bird.
  • Try the smart, tangy tuna sandwich called Plenty of Fish which includes lemon-dill aioli, albacore tuna, harissa, sliced tomato, Kalamata olives and arugula:
  • Had an awesome lunch here. The smoked salmon sandwich was tasty.
  • Order one of everything
  • My husband and I both loved our sandwiches. I had "the cheesy affair". We took cookies home for later. They were so yummy as well.
  • The stop has Stumptown coffee as well as artful sandwiches if youre swinging by for lunch. Check out the bakers in the back; their industrial kitchen is constantly filling orders for their goods.
  • The Gringo
  • The classic European-style pastries and baked goods are strictly prepared in house and with the utmost care. It's a nice place to relax and enjoy some carbs in the Arts District.
  • On the bird one of the best sandwiches I've had in LA
  • Amazing sugar bread
