Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb s potatoes, peeled and cut into 2 inch cubes
  • 1/2 Cup sour cream
  • 2 Tablespoon butter, divided
  • 2 Tablespoon prepared mustard
  • 1 (12 ounce) can beer, preferrably dark (water may be substituted)
  • 8 -10 bratwursts (not smoked)
  • 3 Tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 Tablespoon mustard seeds
  • 3 large red onions, cut in half and sliced thin
  • salt and pepper
  • 2 Tablespoon flour
  • 2 Teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 3 Tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 1 Teaspoon thyme, dried
  • 2 Cup beef broth
  • 3/4 Cup French-fried onions
