Foursquare Tips

  • Animal crackers with your coffee
  • The Open City burger is a winner. Topped with melted aged white cheddar and thick cut, smoky bacon, it's served on a squishy, sesame-seeded potato bun. It's so choice.
  • Try the vegan burger. And come on Sunday nights for the adorable bartender, Mick.
  • Great coffee - really. I always grab a red-eye when I'm in this part of town.
  • If you're in the mood for a breakfast drink, ask for an "OC 7." It's a combo of orange juice, orange vodka, and champagne. It's not currently on the menu, but some bartenders know it.
  • Breakfast is available all day, and coffee is served in a giant mug with several animal crackers.
  • Monday nights you get any burger and draft for $10. I got the Open City burger with cheddar and applewood-smoked bacon on a potato roll. Medium rare.
  • Breakfast. All. Day. Long.
  • Terrific desserts! Try the Sour cherry Pie with Vanilla Ice Cream
  • Try the grits. Yummy
  • Great chai tea and Sweet potato pancakes.
  • Chocolate chip pancakes are heavenly!
  • I bring EVERYONE who comes to visit me here. It's worth whatever the wait time, because it has something for every palette.
  • Ask to be in Richard's section AKA the Crazy Uncle. He was great with the kids, great with menu suggestions and provided wonderful service! Try the OC Royale for a good variety.
  • Order the green iced tea - it has JUST A HINT of pineapple. ;-)
  • If you want to get seated, bring 7 babies with you, otherwise they will ignore you. Parties of two have to wait at least an hour for brunch (idea for future: invest in fake strollers).
  • The vegan scramble is great!
  • Service is bad
  • This is not in Chevy Chase, MD - it is in DC. Great staff, good food and reliable.
  • brunch, brunch, brunch - and you can do it anytime, day or night. Favorite neighborhood spot. Entertaining staff.
