Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed and Atlanta City Council President Ceasar Mitchell exchanged heated words Wednesday, during The Ryan Cameron Morning Show with Wanda Smith on CBS Radio’s V-103/WVEE.
The dispute centers around Mitchell writing a blog for The Saporta Report suggesting that the City of Atlanta dip into its reserves to resolve a contract dispute with the Atlanta Public School system.
At issue are millions of dollars related to paying for the Atlanta Beltline. “Ceasar Mitchell called you a bully,” Cameron raised to Reed. The Mayor responded, “when have you ever heard a dude call another dude a bully?” Just minutes after the sit-down with RCMS, the mayor went back on the air, when Council President Mitchell called in. The back and forth quickly became personal, with Reed and Mitchell sparring over the accounting of 26 million dollars already paid to APS.
