Tips

  • Today, we understand the importance of environmental conservation. That wasn't so common in 1906, when Pierre du Pont purchased this land to preserve the trees.
  • The gardens have a beautiful Christmas light display during the Winter months.
  • Check out DuPont house
  • Come to this garden, about 40 miles west of Philadelphia, for 325 acres of constant jaw-dropping displays. It's famous for its fountains, but check out the greenhouse conservatory too.
  • Find and explore all 3 treehouses.
  • If it's your first visit, buy a one-day admission then consider buying a membership as you leave. You can apply the cost of your one-day admission towards the membership fee if you ask politely.
  • Go several times a year, as the displays are constantly changing
  • One of Longwood Gardens most popular seasons is right around the holidays; once you visit youll know why. The four-acre conservatory is transformed into a holiday light and sight spectacular.
  • One of my favorite places in the world. So beautiful. The exhibits change all the time, so it is always new and exciting each trip!
  • Bring your macro lens
  • This is good for photographers, artists etc. The flowers are gorgeous, and the children's garden is perfect interaction. This place is gorgeous in all seasons, and open for all. Love. MUST GO!
  • Make reservations for a sunset dinner at the 1906 restaurant. Arrive two hours before dinner and tour the conversatory as you work up a good appetite.
  • Always a great place to spend an afternoon on your on or with people you care about
  • Got a tripod? Don't forget to get a permit.
  • The one-year family membership is a steal for the price! Family of 6 here saved on first visit. More times per year is found money.
  • The most beautiful and epic conservatory that I have ever visited.
  • Children learn about nature with amazing plants and fun activities around every corner at the Indoor Childrens Garden, including 17 kid-friendly fountains. An extra shirt or towel might come in handy
  • Go to Longwood Gardens and check out the current Making Scents: The Art and Passion for Fragrance. Its hands on and a lot of fun for kids! (And the kids at heart!)
  • I'm 110% enchanted with this place. I will visit over and over again.
