Foursquare Tips

  • Dont be put off by the Lewis Carrollon-acid hotel lounge that fronts the restaurant. With cream-painted walls, soaring windows, and velvet banquettes, J&G is one of the most elegant rooms in town.
  • Went at lunch - great food, service was slow.
  • Really great atmosphere on the patio for a late dinner. Got the restaurant week prix fixe menu, service was so slow - was the only negative. Still would recommend!
  • The Butternut Squash soup is to die for.
  • My pics: drink the grapefruit gimlet at the bar downstairs
  • Service at brunch was ridiculously bad and the food was just mediocre. Total surprise.
  • Menu is misleading, terrible service, and definitely overpriced for the quality. Came for breakfast and would definitely NOT come back.
  • Dinner in the wine bar might be better than dinner in the main dinning hall. Same full menu, better atmosphere.
  • Lamb chops and the scallops!
  • Go to J&G Steakhouse and order the Butternut Squash Soup & the Crab Cake with Pink Grapefruit and Avocado and Ginger. For dessert: Salted Caramel Ice Cream Sundae.
  • Hanger Steak on the lunch menu is very good! Service is kind of slow though!
  • Poor service. Rude staff. I do not recommend at all.
  • Incredibly slow service. Put in your whole order the first time or you won't see staff again for 15 minutes. No drink at the 20 minute mark.
  • Finally reopened after renovations. Better bar area upstairs but food is still average and pricey. Avoid the clam chowder. Not good. Yellowtail tartar is good but sans mustard seeds.
  • Really have to agree with the other posts here...service is stunningly poor. Slow, ineffective and a perceptible malaise amongst the wait staff. Food was good, but won't be back.
  • BEAUTIFUL day on the patio. Service was good and attentive. Steak sandwich was delicious. Wish I could have tried the burger too! I'll definitely be back.
  • Great service and the bacon wrapped shrimp was spectacular. Market salad was fresh and bursting with flavor.
  • You can't beat the pre-theatre specials. You get an appetizer, main dish and desert for one reasonable price. 5pm to 6:30pm only.
  • It may be a steakhouse but try the crispy chicken. Amazing!
  • Extremely poor service - didn't hit the mark on anyone's steak. Chicken was decent.
