  • Don't forget to finish off your meal with a slice of the lilikoi (passion fruit) chiffon pie! Light, sweet, tangy, DELICIOUS.
  • Saimin is Hawaiian comfort food - long, soft, crinkly Chinese-style noodles in a Japanese-style broth, topped with green onion, slices of fish cake, bits of luncheon meat. This spot does it best.
  • Get the Special Saimin
  • From watching the locals: get the special, order a grilled chicken/pork stick, mix soy sauce and mustard in a little sauce plate, dip the meat in your new sauce, and mix into the special.
  • Bring cash: no credit cards accepted.
  • I go here at least once everytime I visit kauai. Its a must eat where you can get a real taste of the local people and wonderful local food!
  • Special saimin!
  • Can't believe no one has mentioned the specialty Saimin and chiffon pie! Oh wait...
  • Seat yourself!
  • beef skewers were the star of the show.
  • Eat like a local.
  • Try the special, the beef skewers, and DO NOT forget a slice of Lilokoi Pie!
  • They actually open at 10 AM on Sunday. The locals are rushing in as they open.
  • no host so make sure you remember who you came after
  • Better to eat there. Noodles get a little soggy in the take-away containers.
  • If there's a line, wait inside/outside the door. Don't let the crowd turn you away. Excellent saimin (similar to ramen). Dress casual and be relaxed to fit in. No alcohol (FYI).
  • Try the Lilikoi Chiffon Pie - Yummy!!
  • Try the Saimin Special - I need some Togarashi... This was good, but needs that to kick it up a notch... :)
  • The Won Ton Mein comes in one size but save room for the Lilikoi chiffon pie
  • Try the Lilikoi Chiffon Pie!! It won't dissapoint!
