  • This place takes hands-on exploring to an extreme. Rainforests, science experiments, wind tunnels & the largest movie screen in the Carolinas will keep kids of all ages entertained for hours.
  • Parents, if you are taking your kids here, do yourself a favor and grab a pint at Ri Ra first!
  • Great for kids and adults
  • If you're just visiting, save some extra $bucks for their AWESOME Gift Shop. Take home a souvenir geode, Dino, turtle, or a cool post card for remembrance of your Discovery Day! *love* this place!
  • Great hands on learning museum. Kids love it from tiny things but interactive exhibits best for ages 5 and up. If in Charlotte get the membership and save!
  • This is a GREAT Family attraction that has a lot of hands on fun. It has a larger than life IMAX theater. Come and explore!!!!

  • As a kid my grandparents took me to the Discovery Place. I have been to allot of museums in my life but this was one of the most memorable museums of my childhood!
  • Saw the amazing film, "Hubble 3D" yesterday. Sat in the middle seats, just 3 rows down from the top row. WOW!! It was an incredible experience. We went THROUGH Outer Space, while in our seats.

  • 3 Hours is NOT enough time with 6yo & 9yo, needed at least 5 (without IMax)
  • Go to the very back corner on the second floor: They've got duct tape, hot glue guns, fabric, leather, etc. to make your own shoes, or really, any thing you like. Get your creativity in gear!

  • The IMAX Dome Theatre is awesome, been going there since I was a kid!

  • You can easily spend a day here, fun for all ages!
  • Such an awesome place for kids of all ages, took my 2yo and he had an absolute blast
  • The IMAX film was nothing short of incredible. Everything else was just "vanilla", not really worth the admission price.
