Cluck Truck Sales at University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Baseball Games to Benefit Charitable Meal Provider
Atlanta, GA (RestaurantNews.com) As part of an ongoing effort to help eliminate childhood hunger, Church’s Chicken® announced an exciting expansion to its in-store fundraising efforts for No Kid Hungry® – a division of Share Our Strength. The fried chicken brand’s ever-popular Cluck Truck will be appearing at several games throughout April for the local University of Texas Rio Grande Valley baseball team. On the mobile menu – the restaurant’s all-new Honey-Butter Biscuit Tenders – and a portion of each sale going directly to No Kid Hungry®.
“Honey-Butter Biscuit Tenders are our way of bringing two great tastes together,” said Amanda Robbins, Director of Field Marketing at Church’s®. “The same concept applies towards No Kid Hungry. We’re providing food that tastes good in a way that also allows food to do good.”
Honey-Butter Biscuit Tenders are a limited-time-only item that combines all-white-meat Tender Strips® with a Honey Butter Biscuit batter coating, for a result that’s as sweet as it is satisfying. The Cluck Truck will be offering a limited Church’s menu at all of the following home games.
University of Texas Rio Grande Valley home baseball games are played at Edinburg Baseball Stadium located at 900 North Sugar Drive. The Cluck Truck will arrive approximately 1 hour before start time, and will remain on site throughout the game.
“The Rio Grande Valley is one of our largest markets, boasting 45 company owned restaurants,” explained Robbins. “We couldn’t think of a better place to truly make this partnership come alive.”
In addition to Honey-Butter Biscuit Tender sales at University of Texas Rio Grande Valley games, guests can also purchase $1 coupon booklets valued at over $15 in savings through April 24th. For every $1 received in donations, the No Kid Hungry program is typically able to provide as many as 10 meals to hungry children through a variety of partners, co-donors, and community-sponsored programs.

About No Kid Hungry® – Share Our Strength
Share Our Strength began in the basement of a row house on Capitol Hill in 1984, in response to the 1984-1985 famine in Ethiopia. Brother and sister, Bill and Debbie Shore started the organization with the belief that everyone has a strength to share in the global fight against hunger and poverty, and that in these shared strengths lie sustainable solutions. Today, they focus on these strengths on making No Kid Hungry a reality in America.
