Tips

  • Whether it's behind the wheel of a car, in a video installation of falling letters or learning how to grow a garden, this museum offers interactive exhibits for the young tinkerer, artist and more.
  • A little pricey for a one-off visit for out-of-towners ($11/adult, $10/kiddo), but at $99 for a family membership for a year? Definitely worth the price.
  • Always bring a full change of clothes and your kid's own poolside sandals. Water just ends everything.
  • Try the gelato in the cafe!
  • Another good idea (if its warm enough) is to bring swimwear for kids in water area. And a towel.
  • Definitely make sure to check out the replica of Mr. Rogers Neighborhood!
  • An enormous, airy, awesome place where your kids can run free exploring for hours, and you can be equally stimulated by the smart exhibits. Dont miss: The replica of Mister Rogers Neighborhood!
  • Be sure to ask about their Veterans' Discount! FREE admission for any Armed Forces Veteran with proof of service.
  • The Pittsburgh Children's Museum was founded in 1983 by the Junior League of Pittsburgh.
  • The art room is great for kids. They can spend hours in there!
  • This museum was inspired by the television show Mr. Rogers Neighborhood. Ride the life-size replica of his trolley and open the alphabet doors to discover surprises.
  • Amazing space for families and kids to learn, experiment and grow.
  • Get a reciprocal membership! Gets you admission to this and other participating kids' museums around the country (there's a LOT) for a year.
  • Fun Christmas Party!
  • Did you know? The museum building first opened in 1897 as the main post office for the city of Allegheny; which was annexed by Pittsburgh in 1907 and is now known as Pittsburgh's North Side.
  • Unreal. Best one I've seen. I'm from Buffalo and we need to really step our game up.
  • Kid museum. Kids fun. Water
  • Great hands on and interactive activities for students!!
  • This place is awesome! If you can still catch the Daniel Tiger exhibit you will be in luck!
  • Many hands on stuff for all the if my kids.
