Local Franchisee Continues to Develop the Better Burger Concept in Central California
Dallas, TX (RestaurantNews.com) The rapidly growing fast-casual, “better burger” chain, MOOYAH Burgers, Fries & Shakes is continuing its Central California expansion with a new opening in Los Gatos, CA. The location is now open at 15529 Union Ave, and is the second for franchisee Terry Ratto, who also owns the Morgan Hill restaurant.
“I’m so excited to spread the MOOYAH brand to Los Gatos,” said Ratto. “The food is incredible, and the atmosphere and experience are hard to beat. I believe it will be the best burger that the Los Gatos community has ever tasted.”
The Los Gatos location marks the fifth MOOYAH restaurant in California as the brand continues to build momentum for growth throughout the state, with specific plans to open locations in Redding, Santa Rosa, Sacramento, Stockton, Los Angeles and San Diego. Ratto has already found success with his MOOYAH that opened last year in Morgan Hill, which was voted “Best New Restaurant” in 2015 by the Morgan Hill Times. Beyond his locations in Los Gatos and Morgan Hill, Terry has plans to continue the brand expansion throughout the San Jose and Bay Area.
“From day one I knew that MOOYAH was an incredible brand with a great philosophy, and we believe that our community members in Los Gatos will feel the same way” said Ratto. “This opening is an exciting day for me and for the whole community.”
Since 1985, Terry has owned a commercial construction company with his brother, which primarily focuses on federal construction projects. Terry is also an investor in a five-star restaurant in San Francisco called Spruce. The brothers and business partners searched for their next business venture and were thrilled to discover MOOYAH. Now, they are excited to open their second location and build upon the success they have already achieved with the brand in the region.
At MOOYAH, Guests have the advantage of choosing from a variety of bun options, such as baked in-house artisan white or multigrain wheat buns and hand-crafted lettuce buns to accompany the never-frozen 100 percent American beef patty, all-natural Jennie-O turkey patty or the mouthwatering black bean veggie patty. Each gourmet burger can be customized with five cheese options, applewood smoked bacon, sliced avocado, along with nine free veggie toppings and 11 free sauces.
MOOYAH French fries come together in a six-step process that takes a total of 24 hours to completely prepare. A delightful combination of constant attention and a little magic help transform U.S. #1 Idaho potatoes into perfect, crisp-on-the-outside and fluffy-on-the-inside fries. Guests also have the choice of savory sweet potato fries. Never one to forget dessert, MOOYAH offers real ice cream shakes, allowing Guests to choose from 10 flavors ranging from vanilla to Hershey’s chocolate to Reese’s to strawberry banana and more.
In 2015, MOOYAH is on pace to open 30 new locations and reach the milestone of 100 before the close of the year. The booming better burger brand is set to enter several new states in 2015, with the first MOOYAH restaurants in Indiana, Ohio, New York, Massachusetts, and Florida scheduled to open this year. Additionally, the brand will increase their established presence in states including California, Texas, Illinois, and Louisiana, with five more scheduled openings in New Jersey alone. The brand continues to spread the unique MOOYAH experience beyond domestic borders too. MOOYAH will open their first restaurant in Qatar in 2015, marking the 7th country MOOYAH has entered outside the U.S.
