Better-Than-Chipotle Burrito
This is not a hate on Chipotle, because boy do I love the stuff, but when I was asked to create a burrito recipe, I couldn't help but try and replicate theirs. I based this recipe exactly off my order at Chipotle — a chicken fajita burrito — and I did the leg work and interviewed a former employee of the chain to get the scoop. That's when I learned that Chipotle is so good, they even keep most of their recipe secrets from their employees, too. Because of that, a lot of this was based off of instinct, but I was happy to hear that my burritos tasted even better than Chipotle's.  Click here to see 6 Burrito Recipes: Simple or Sophisticated, You Decide.

Pork Belly Burrito
This burrito is probably the happiest accident of my modern life. I set out to make a pork burrito, and as I walked down the meat aisle I saw pork belly, delicious, succulent, awesome pork belly just staring at me. So I bought it and, well, the rest is history. The pork in this recipe has a "barbecue" essence to it that complements the cilantro-lime rice very well! Click here to see 6 Burrito Recipes: Simple or Sophisticated, You Decide.

Shrimp Burrito with Tomatillo Salsa
Making a burrito isn't as labor-intensive as you think, especially because most of the ingredients can be bought ready-made at the store — salsa, guacamole, canned beans, and in this case, even cooked shrimp, if you're feeling particularly, ahem, lazy. But if you're going to make something from scratch here, I would insist on the salsa. You don't even need to chop anything for this one; just throw everything into a food processor and you'll have a fresher-tasting salsa than anything store-bought, with a balance of tanginess and heat that will make this burrito something special. Kale and Feta Burrito
I shamefully admit that I am new to the kale wagon. I resisted the trend for quite a while, but recently caved and have since fallen head over heels for the leafy green love machine. When faced with the challenge of creating a vegetarian burrito that stood out from the pack, I immediately turned to kale for the starring role. Joined by sautéed red onions, pinto beans, brown rice and, wait for it — feta cheese — I knew I had found the cast of ingredients I needed. This one's a knockout. Ultimate Breakfast Burrito
I've been talking up the glories of the Texas-style breakfast burrito since moving to New York almost a decade ago. Honestly, I can think of few better ways to enjoy eggs than mixed with potatoes and sausage, smothered in cheese and overstuffed in a flour tortilla. Oh, and don't forget the spicy salsa on top.Click here to see Recipe SWAT Team: Everyday Eggs.
