Foursquare Tips

  • Brass Tacks ups the ante at Sunday Brunch with a DJ who spins classic R&B hits while patrons enjoy chicken & waffles (which usually sell out), stuffed brioche French toast and pork belly & grits.
  • Lots of hipster dude-bros. and lovely light fixtures.
  • Super loud, so sit close. Red, white and ros wine on tap. Ros on tap will not be ignored.
  • Like the lights, love the Brass Smash.
  • Serious drinks, serious decor. And by serious I mean they really put effort I to it all. A great replacement to Marlena's as my Hayes Valley watering hole
  • They serve Olympia and Olympia is delicious
  • The Conversations
  • Pretty rad space. Good bourbon selection. Will def be back
  • My favorite bar I'm Hayes Valley. A Saturday afternoon sitting at the table by the window with some of your best friends drinking a brass smash is the only way I want to live my life
  • Bring in food from the food trucks in Octavia Green and do brunch here. The best Bloody Mary in the neighborhood.
  • Get there early and get a window seat. Also, try the "on her Majesty's secret service" cocktail. Yum!
  • STRONG drinks. Nice bartenders, but the Valley Club and Knife in the Water we had (both baby pink) left something to be desired taste-wise. Not bad, but not Absinthe or Trick Dog, either.
  • Good spot for a cocktail. They know their bourbon.
  • Get some bar seats by the front window. Fabulous craft cocktail and beer list.
  • Fun spot to grab a great cocktail in Hayes Valley. It can get very packed at night.
  • Awful tasteless sterile degraded version of a the former wonderful Marlena's. Drinks good. Everything else wretched crap.
  • This place isn't awful... It's just not what it used to be at all
  • They do carry some nice belgian beers such as Rochefort 6 & Bernardus Abt 12 (among others). Very friendly staff & great vibe. Great floor :-)
  • Friendly bar staff, good atmosphere for a post-work drink
  • $11 cocktails are the way to go. Try the story of Ricky.
