  • Be sure to find the portraits by Joshua Johnson. Johnson is noted as the first prominent African-American portrait artist.
  • Love it! Check it out, and it has free admission. Plus there is jazz in the sculpture garden in the summers on Saturdays. Good stuff!

  • If you are visiting the BMA on a weekend, make sure you stop by Gertrude's for brunch. The best item on the menu, is the Eggs Gertrude. Yummy!!
  • Extensive and free, they even offer yoga in the sculpture garden. When you are done taking in the artwork grab some world famous crab cakes or just a glass of wine atGERTRUDES.
  • $7 guided group tour is well worth it. Our docent, Rachel, was excellent.
