  • Demetris Avramopoulos, Mayor of Athens, Greece, presented a replica of the Piraeus Athena (c. 350 BC) for installation in the park as a gift to the City of New York on March 28, 1998.
  • Socrates, Aristotle, and Athena all in one park. Awesomeness!
  • Pleasant and relaxing. The pillars are authentic and cool. Try the tire swings and gigantic slide. Kid heaven.
  • This is a very pleasant park in Astoria, where tons of families & older Greek individuals gather & hang out. It's a refreshing sight off the NW train.
  • Tribute to Greece!
  • Grab a deli sandwich or something from the breakfast truck, and eat it at one of the tables.
  • Roses:-) excellent botanicles
  • Sketchy after dark, but vibrant during the day and worth visiting for the sculptures.
  • Pose with statues of Greek gods and philosophers.
  • Construction in the park....not so pleasant...
  • Lovely little park that pays tribute to Greece.
