Tips
- So whats the best way to approach a meal at Umi? You might start as we did with a couple of appetizers from the kitchen.
- Best sushi I have had in Atlanta by far.
- Omakase! The only way to go... Sit back relax, and enjoy something that has been reserved for the in the know crowd of NYC has found there spot here in ATL...
- As of summer 2013, this place is brand new, and always on a wait, but it's worth it. Amazingly fresh sushi with wonderful textures and flavors. Certified Kobe beef to die for. Great drink selection.
- Madai carpaccio. Just do it.
- The spicy tuna crispy rice is extraordinary. The rice is lightly fried, then topped with spicy tuna tartare and jalapeo. The fresh fish, crunch, and spice all swirl into a heavenly bite.
- The best Japanese restaurant in Atlanta -- there are NO others, trust me! Order the Omakase if you are feeling adventurous or just sit at the sushi bar & what the magestry!
- This might sound weird, but their pickled ginger is really good! Ginger from other restaurants is too "soapy" and bitter, like Lemon Fresh Joy. Umi's seemed sweeter to me. Excellent!
- Not that good sushi quality, bet owner is not Japanese. We ordered "toro" but they served "maguro" they trick like this. B careful. Interior is nice if u feel fancy then good place. Not classy
- Try the specials. WOW!
- Use the ToTo bidet, ... I did.
- Try sushito peppers
- The very best sushi in ATL!
- Chefs selection nigiri is melt in your mouth fresh
- Menu is great ! I have shellfish allergies and they accommodate my need ... looking forward to go again ..
- The attention and service is superb and everything we ordered was amazing. The fish was incredibly fresh, just amazing.
- Spent the NYE here! Truly exceptional!
- Chef Fuyuhiko Ito continues to serve one of Atlanta's best omakase experiences, and this glitzy Buckhead dining room might be the best place to spot a film-industry celebrity.
- Ask for Michelle.
- Ito-Kase (Chef's choice omakase) at the bar is definitely recommended. Great service and conversation with the chefs and good food. Favorite nigiri: salmon with truffle cream, uni, Wagyu.
