We’re only three months away from the 2016 Summer Olympics, which will be held in August in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This means scores of sports-lovers and tourists of all kinds will be headed to South America looking for some fantastic football, and presumably some superb eats as well. After all, the region has some of the best cuisine in the world, as evidenced in our list of the 101 Best Restaurants in Latin America and the Caribbean 2016.
Using reviews and the survey responses of food experts from around the world as a means of evaluation, we carefully constructed that final list, which included a healthy number of representations from Brazil. However, many of the country’s other extraordinary eateries failed to make the cut, but still deserve plenty of acclaim. We have now crafted a separate list, with only entries from Brazil, and expanded the already-impressive line-up to a whopping 20 restaurants in all.
As the Olympic flame makes its trip around the world, come with us as we explore the best restaurants in Brazil, and examine the top places that other eateries can’t hold a candle to.
