Tips

  • This is an awesome FREE museum in Nashville. Worth the trip!!
  • This museum depicts the History of Tennessee dating back to pre-colonization times. Here youll one of the largest collections in the nation of uniforms, weapons & battle flags from the Civil War.
  • It's not great, could do with a refurb.
  • The only good thing about the museum is that it's free. However, exhibits are outdated and represent the conservative tendency to downplay slavery and glorify ppl like Andrew Jackson w/o trail of tear
  • Free admission. Really cool carved out old indian canoe. There are only 2 that are known of in Tennessee.
  • Some of the best exhibits in the south and also never miss the unusual folk art collection.
  • The beautiful new Tennessee State Museum is now open at 1000 Rosa L. Parks Blvd. (at Jefferson Street.) There is no admission charge. For more information on parking, etc., visit www.tnmuseum.org
  • The furniture exhibits, but historical exhibits are terribly inaccurate and provide no real context
  • Great museum it's huge and free.
  • Very good..! Bigger than it seems! Full of history!
  • An unbelievable number of cool things in this free museum.
  • Super comfy sand floor by the Native Mississippian fire exhibit
  • Don'r miss the mummy in the mezzanine!!
  • <3 how close I live to history
  • It was interesting
  • Informative
