HOUSTON, Oct. 14, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Shipley Do-Nuts is celebrating the grand opening of yet another Houston area location from 8:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturday, October 22, 2016, at 12403 Westheimer Rd., Houston, TX 77077.
Along with other prizes and gifts, the store will have a Halloween costume contest, face painting and balloons for the kids, and host a donut eating contest at 9:00 am. "The grand opening event will be well attended and a lot of fun," says franchise owner, Mike Simon. The new Westheimer location will be open 24 hours, with convenient drive thru service. The building was formerly an Arby's and a Krispy Kreme (not kidding!) and was leased by Simon to facilitate the continued growth of his customer base from his previous location at 12225 Westheimer Rd., which was already one of the chain's highest volume stores.
Shipley Do-Nuts is still growing in the Houston market, with plans to develop at least six additional locations over the next twelve months.
Since 1936, the Shipley family donut recipe has withstood the test of time. With more than 60 varieties of delicious donuts, pastries, and kolaches made fresh daily and served hot, it's this same simple concept that has continued to bring back multiple generations of loyal customers. Shipley Do-Nuts originated in Houston, Texas, where it still maintains its offices and production facility. Today, Shipley Do-Nuts is under the leadership of Lawrence Shipley III, with over 300 franchise locations in Texas, Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee. The company is celebrating its 80th birthday this year and has plans to reach 400 stores by 2020.
