Tips

  • Crispy fried eggplant was better than 95% of the French fries I've ever had. Don't miss the dry fried green beans. Addictive!
  • Forget trekking out to the Richmond. You can get delicious dim sum here. Plus Mama Ji is super friendly and lives in the neighborhood herself.
  • Finally something good in the Castro
  • Amazing food in the Castro. From pork buns to the lava buns.
  • Get the Stream Golden Lava Bun. The best egg custard in the city!
  • Hands down the best Chinese restaurant in the Castro district!
  • Mama Ji's cooks in the kitchen & Papa Ji works the front of the restaurant, with a warm hospitality that makes you feel at home. Great food, menu & a variety of Belgium beers, can't wait to come back.
  • Best dim sum east of Masonic. Spicy cold noodles, beef chow mein, soup dumplings, green beans, lava buns, bang bang chicken - that's just my order for 2. Every single dish on the menu is on point.
  • Shanghai Dumplings, sesame balls, deep fried meet dumplings are fantastic! Everything else on dim sum menu is really good too. Great for Sunday brunch.
  • Shrimp 2 ways: green pepper stuffed and with cilantro dumpling are both delicious.
  • I love this place. The fried shrimp dumpling they have at lunch time are so good but all their dim sum is fantastic. Beef chow fun and fried rice is a must as well
  • Cold noodles, crispy eggplant or pumpkin and the steamed fish and Hunan tofu. So good
  • They have lava bun! Order it and enjoy it!
  • Dim sum is good, but get the cold noodles.
  • The Chongquing Chicken will knock your socks off if you like spicy!
  • Eat the food, it's great!
  • If you are going for a breakfast on Sunday morning, make it before 10.30 so you don't have to wait for an hour to have this awesomeness!!!
  • Dim sum in the castro?? Yes! Fanstastic dim sum in the castro? Yes! Amazing, delicious.
  • Great dim sum. Good to see this place crowded and packed to the buns;-)
  • Outdoor table when you are 2 , come early and taste great dumplings and fresh draught beer. Only locals. CASTRO and Upper Market :)
