Foursquare Tips

  • For a taste of Nashville-style hot chicken, a fried chicken concept with a kick, check out Howlin' Rays in Chinatown. The savory, spicy flavor concoction is even served with waffles on the weekends.
  • Opening in 2 weeks!
  • Found this truck across from the Vista Theatre in Los Feliz on Saturday. Fried Chicken on a piece of bread with picked. Order white or dark, select your spice & grab a side. Had the dark (thigh), yum!
  • Got the hot. Seasoned perfectly and wasn't too spicy.
  • New secret menu item - Howlin' Taco!
  • This is place is so good . Chicken is off the chain!!!
  • Be sure to check out their secret menu! https://www.google.com/amp/s/la.eater.com/platform/amp/2018/12/27/18157216/howlin-rays-off-menu-items-reveal-photos-hot-chicken-los-angeles
  • Howlin Rays has ruined all other chicken sandwiches IMO, when I go anywhere else they never compare to the quality that only Howlin brings in their sando! Jojo style on the weekends is also a must!
  • You cannot go wrong with anything on their menu! Also, avoid coming here during the holidays the lines are 3.5hrs+ unless you have that time to!
  • Hot is actually pretty hot - I'd do the medium. Food is great but I wasn't sure it was worth the insane wait, that is until the crew really went above and beyond to make sure we had an amazing time!
  • The staff is great! The food is amazing!
  • Decent mac salad with a thin dressing that cools the mouth from the loads of spices from the chicken. 3/5
  • Not a fan of Nashville style fried chicken with the thick coat of spices, so I dont get the hype. Chicken itself is moist and well fried, other than that the flavors and spiciness/spices are meh. 3/5
  • I've been here multiple times and the food and customer service is always phenomenal! The hardest working crew making the best fried chicken sando's you will ever eat period! PS. Get the Luis Style!
  • Always a looong line but totally worth it (waiting could extend to 2 hours) best chicken burger! But too spicy, always go one level down from what u usually eat in other restaurants
  • Always a long line, but always worth it! The chicken sandwich is life changing and their heat levels are no joke. Save yourself with their peach tea and definitely order extra comeback sauce.
  • Sando - medium heat, peach tea and fries
  • The hot is, hot!
  • Task Rabbits FTW. "Mild" is plenty of kick for most, "Hot" is an adventure. Chicken ordered "Howlin" includes gloves and usually a free side of mac salad. Eat Scoops right after to kill the heat.
  • The Sando, and quarter chicken, both medium spicy. SO GOOD! Worth the 2+ hour wait.
