For more than 135 years, Osseo Meat Market & Deli has been Hennepin County, Minnesota’s main destination for all things meat-related. In the 33 years since owners Dick and Faye Welk took it over, they’ve expanded its offerings, and it’s clear that they take pride in being a down-home, small-town butcher shop.
Housemade items include delicious summer sausage, bacon, hams, sausages, cheese spread, pickles, salads, lutefisk, lefse, and beef sticks, and all meats are sourced from wholesalers in the Midwest. Fresh cuts of meat include whole prime ribs, eight-ounce burgers in several varieties (including Philly cheese steak and bacon Cheddar), heat-and-eat baby back ribs, plenty of different steaks, thick-cut pork chops, Amish chickens, and stuffed pork chops. There’s also a build-your-own salad and sandwich bar and a daily rotating selection of special prepared dishes and homemade soups.
Any town would be lucky to have a meat market like Osseo, and anyone who lives nearby should take advantage of their good fortune.
