In what was once a hardware warehouse in downtown Franklin, Merridee Erickson opened her bakery in 1984 after three years of selling her baked goods from her log cabin in nearby Fairview. Merridee’s Breadbasket is still serving baked-from-scratch items. From sweet breads to cookies to brownies, this classic Southern bakery also serves a full breakfast, lunch, dinner, and catering menu highlighting their specialty baked goods.

Tips

  • Great place for lunch
  • Made our South's Best List! Order the tea cakes, an old-fashioned variation on a sugar cookie.
  • Use your Nashville City Saver coupons here to receive a free chicken salad sandwich or a free ham/egg/cheese biscuit when a second of the same is purchased.
  • The chicken salad is the best I've ever had. And their soups are amazing!!!
  • Outdoor tables hidden in back. Fruit tea is even better that way :-)
  • Just take af whif!!!! That smell is what dreams are made of!
  • Merridees is now open until 9pm Thursdays, fridays and Sat with live music on Sat
  • The curry chicken salad sandwich is amazing!
  • One word: chicken salad sandwich on egg bread.
  • After hearing so much about Merridee's, I finally had the chance to visit. I had a Turkey Club from the grill and some Quiche and they were both amazing! As was the brownie bar I had for dessert. YUM!
  • The crescents are a nice cheap lunch if you're not too hungry.
  • Wide selection of holiday baked goods available. Yummy!
  • Love the peanut butter pie
  • Bring your piggy bank. The fruit tea is mixed with a subtle form of cocaine and refills cost a dollar.
  • Try the apple pie. It's amazing.
  • Great place to grab a bite and meet friends and family.
  • Delicious breakfast! Wish this was a chain!!
  • You honestly can't go wrong with anything here. My fav: Apple Bacon Panini with a slice of peanut butter pie
  • Worth the wait-the chicken salad sandwich is the best around. Pair with sweet tea or fruit tea, and a chess or lemon bar. Can't go wrong with their fresh baked breads and pies either. Try French silk!
  • Out of peaches and cream desert...so I got apple
