McDonald’s will leverage its NFL sponsorship to promote core menu items when it launches its new Game Time Gold peel-and-win game on November 3.
Game pieces will be included on packaging for McMuffin sandwiches (except Sausage McMuffins) or biscuit sandwiches (except Sausage Biscuits), hash browns, large fries, BigMac, Filet-O-Fish, medium fountain beverages, 10-piece Chicken McNuggets and 20-piece Chicken McNuggets (two game pieces). Game pieces have a 10-digit code that can be texted to the Short Code (84567) or entered at the PlayAtMcD.com website.
During the “NBC Sunday Night Football” broadcast in each of the four weeks, one of the 32 NFL teams will be announced as the “lucky team” for the past week. Any code associated with that lucky team that was entered during the preceding week is then included in the weekly drawing for prizes.
Each week, a check for $500,000, a four-night trip for two to Super Bowl 50 and an Xbox One console will be among the prizes. Other weekly prizes vary but include a Hyundai Tucson Sport FWD 1.6L Turbo, tickets to 2016 season NFL games and a $5,000 NFLShop.com shopping spree.
A TV spot for the game shows former Chicago Bears coach Mike Ditka wearing a Packers sweater as he prepares to play the game.
Game pieces also can deliver instant-win food prizes including the Premium Chicken sandwich, Quarter Pounder with Cheese, medium fries, breakfast sandwich (excluding McMuffin sandwiches), snack McFlurry or small parfait, small hot coffee or small McCafé smoothie.
